What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They are read back by the website on your next visit, allowing it to remember things like whether you have previously accepted a notice, or how you prefer to view content.

Cookies do not run programmes or carry viruses. They are simply records — short notes left on your device so that the website does not have to ask the same questions every time you arrive.

This page explains which cookies the Pebblehearth website uses, why it uses them, and how you can adjust or withdraw your consent at any time.

Categories of cookies we use

Essential cookies

Always active

These cookies are necessary for the website to function. Without them, basic things like session continuity and security checks cannot work. They cannot be switched off in our system.

Examples: session token, cookie consent record  ·  Duration: session or up to 12 months

Analytics cookies

These help us understand how visitors move through the site — which pages are read, how long people stay, and where they came from. We use this information to improve the content we provide, not to identify individual visitors.

Provider: Google Analytics  ·  Duration: up to 24 months

Marketing cookies

Marketing cookies track visits across websites and are used to show advertising that is more relevant to you. Pebblehearth does not itself run advertising campaigns, but third-party tools that measure ad performance may place cookies if enabled.

Providers: Meta Pixel, Google Ads  ·  Duration: up to 90 days

Preference cookies

These remember choices you have made — such as your region or language preference — so that the site can provide a more consistent experience on return visits.

Examples: display region, language  ·  Duration: up to 12 months

Third-party cookies

Some cookies on this site are placed by third-party services rather than by Pebblehearth directly. These include:

  • Google Analytics — page view and session statistics. Google's privacy policy →
  • Google Ads / Bing Ads — conversion measurement, if advertising is active.
  • Meta Pixel — audience measurement for any Facebook or Instagram campaigns.

Pebblehearth does not control the cookies placed by these services once you have accepted them. Each provider's own privacy policy governs how they handle that data.

How long cookies are stored

Session cookies exist only while your browser is open. They are deleted automatically when you close the browser tab or window.

Persistent cookies remain on your device for a defined period — typically between 30 days and 24 months depending on the cookie's purpose — or until you delete them manually.

The specific durations for each category are noted in the section above.

Your rights and how to use them

Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010, and consistent with international practice, you have the right to withdraw your consent to non-essential cookies at any time. You can do this using the preference controls on this page, through your browser settings, or by contacting us directly.

Withdrawing consent for optional cookies will not affect your ability to use the Pebblehearth website, though certain features that rely on preference or analytics cookies may function differently.

If you have questions about how we handle data related to cookies, or wish to exercise your rights under PDPA 2010, please write to us at [email protected].
